Position Summary

Salugen™ is a life sciences company offering nutritional ingredients and gene testing to help reduce excessive cravings involved in smoking, weight problems, and alcohol and drug abuse. Salugen has a patent-protected, clinically proven nutritional formulation to reduce stress and cravings, as well as patent-protected gene tests to help identify these persons and customize their treatment.  Simply, Salugen’s goal is to reduce or eliminate the illness, costs, and deaths associated with these preventable disorders.  The company has headquarters in San Diego, CA. 

Salugen is currently searching for Sales Consultant who possess the right experience and attitude to become leaders in our rapidly growing company and sales organization. Sales Consultants will contribute to the successful growth of the Company’s products.  Salugen has pilot tested various different products over the past several years to better understand nutrigenetics and personalized nutrition.  From that experience, the Company has determined to focus on its core technology involving DNA testing, medical foods, and nutritional supplements related to the top 3 leading causes of preventable death in the United States – alcohol and drug addiction, obesity, and smoking.  If you are interested in nutrition and pharmaceuticals and seek an opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of people, then Salugen is the ideal opportunity.  Reporting directly to senior management, you will be part of the “ground floor” in the tremendous growth of a personalized healthcare company.

Job Responsibilities

• Professional promotion of the Company’s products by prospecting, responding to leads, opening and supporting accounts in the addiction treatment center, pain rehabilitation and behavioral health markets

• Professional promotion of the Company’s genetic testing, medical foods, and supplements to large physician practices in specific medical specialties

• Develop and execute strategic plans, coordinate efforts with partners and co-workers in a team environment, accurately complete reports and comply with regulatory and Company guidelines

• Develop and deliver informative sales presentations based in individual customer needs to maximize market share of the designated product portfolio

• Maintain up-to-date database to document sales call information, trends, future call objectives, promotional data and overall account performance

Job Requirements

• 2+ years of sales and/or marketing experience desired (preferably addiction treatment, nutrition, or healthcare)

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, business, or scientific discipline

• Excellent communication, organization, and planning skills with demonstrated sales abilities

• Aptitude for learning technical and scientific product related information

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
